On the afternoon of July 3, a delegation of Antwerp Port Authority, Belgium headed by President Annick De Ridder visited DMU and participated in the Granting Ceremony of Port of Antwerp Maritime Award.
Liu Zhengjiang extended a warm welcome to Annick De Ridder and other delegates. He gave a brief introduction of Dalian and DMU, and thanked Antwerp Port Authority for setting up an award for outstanding papers in the maritime field at DMU. He hoped that DMU and Antwerp Port Authority will continue to maintain a good relationship to contribute to DMU’s “Double First-Class” construction.
Annick De Ridder briefly introduced her connection with the maritime field and with DMU, and said that Antwerp Port Authority attached great importance to cooperation with DMU and hoped to deepen cooperation in the future, promoting common development of both sides.
After the meeting, Liu Zhengjiang and Annick De Ridder attended the Granting Ceremony of Port of Antwerp Maritime Award. Liu Zhengjiang delivered a speech at the ceremony. He thanked Antwerp Port Authority for their support for DMU and expressed his sincere congratulations to the award-winning teachers and students, hoping that they would continue to build up strength for the development of world shipping. Annick De Ridder briefly introduced Port of Antwerp and said that students represented the future of the shipping industry and maritime education was vital to the development of shipping. She hoped that the award would encourage students to study harder and contribute their own strength to the development of shipping career.
Annick De Ridder and Luc Arnouts, Vice-President of Antwerp Port Authority, granted the awards to the students and teachers at the ceremony.
After the ceremony, two sides took a group photo in front of the memorial statue of Antwerp Port Authority at Xinhai Lake and visited DMU’s Exhibition Hall.
